SAP , Systems Applications and Products , a German Based Software Company . During the Course of my Journey as a SAP Administrator , many people asked me this . People not even distantly associated with IT / Computers wanted to Know , what I do as a SAP Basis Administrator .

Well , Before Answering the Above Question , Lets Understand What is an ERP .
ERP , Enterprise Resource and Planning . As the Name suggests , it deals with something relating to Managing the resources in an Enterprise . So how does a Software help you doing this ??
An ERP System helps in managing the company resources efficiently , effectively and to an extent transparently .

SAP is one such ERP System which helps you manage your Resources .
There are Number of ERP Softwares which claim to do that . But then , What makes SAP Stand out amongst All of them ???

For one , I personally feel , SAP managed to Develop an ERP Solution for Every Industry , be it Media , Oil & Gas , IT , Manufacturing , Retail , Medicine ..... name it and you have it .

Secondly , the Freedom the Software Gives the Customer to Develop and Customize the Software based on its Own Requirements .

Thirdly and Most Importantly , the Tight Level Integration between various Business Modules with in SAP .

There are Various Business / Functional Modules in SAP .
1) FI/CO ( Finance Accounting / Controlling )

6) SCM ( Supply Chain Management )
7) SRM ( Supplier Relationship Management )
8) CRM ( Customer Relationship Management )
9) BW / BI ( Business Warehouse / Business Intelligence )
just to name a few .......
